My every movement and pressure is recorded in the clay. Not to say this isn't true in all pottery.
But, when using mixed color porcelain a trail is left of your actions. By observing this "energy trail" and learning
how to direct it is one essential element of my work. That and the relationship of the individual units (beads) and clusters
of these units to each other and the whole is what I'm concerned with. When designing jewelry I don't wish to get preoccupied with an individual bead, but instead focus on the collective results. My function is to bring together the energy trails of the colored porcelain, the choreography of their shapes and of course the human figure to which the jewelry is meant to add interest and beauty. . .
